1090418111 | 2004-07-21 | Orphan | No Violations | Well was drilled in 1950s but never put into production. Driller went out of business. No tubing, rods or pumpjack placed in well. Landowner thought driller may have dropped fence posts in well. The well had not been exposed for some years but crops would not grow in area. There was usually an odor of H2S in the area. The well casing became recently exposed. A 7 inch casing was noted approximately 1 foot below ground. There was a strong odor of H2S at the well and bubbling could be heard from the casing. An area of approximately 20x40 feet around the well had no vegetation. Landowner thought well was drilled 1200-1600 feet deep. |
