I told both partys I would conduct a investigation to determine if the spill area was cleaned up properly. I obtained three soil samples to check for chlorides. I added water to make a slurry to determine if any chlorides were present. The samples were taken 20 feet, 30 feet, and 40 feet from the tank that leaked. The sample locations were down hill were the brine would have flowed. The highest reading was 106 PPM using low range Quantab Titrators. I called Mr. Lint back to inform him of my findings. |
