0069784855 2007-10-11 Orphan No Violations A 12 by 12 pit full of brine with bubbling in the center of the pit. A high end Quantab of the brine read 9.2 on the strip. This well is located in a bottom area with sandy soils. Brine is able to seep into the soil. The township bridge with a limit of 10 tons can be bypassed by a recently constructed stream crossing be side the bridge. No other restrictions were observed that would prevent a rig from getting to the site. A road will have to be built from the gravel road to the well site.
0207803179 2012-06-07 Orphan No Violations Orphan well pre bid meeting at Jackson Office.
0414889292 2015-07-30 Orphan No Violations Today I met with Barry Bowers of Huffman-Bowers Co. and Mr. Pearl Johnson, owner of the land, to discuss this wells plugging. Mr. Johnson would like to take over the well, if it could provide house gas, and I discussed our orphan plugging program and his options. Barry assessed the gas and water coming from the well as well as reviewed the well records. He will provide an estimate for plugging costs.
0922307638 2017-06-01 Orphan No Violations Orphan well field work with DOGRM staff members Tom Smith, Jake Glascock, Nate Lane, Josh Schiering, and Paul Carder to evaluate this orphan well site for surveying, hydrogeological, safety, environmental, and radiological considerations. Upon inspection, it is observed that the well is still continuously leaking brine and gas to the surface. No casing is visible at the surface. The area surrounding the well is a brine pool 20 wide by 30 long which discharges to the overflow ditch of the landowners pond, which eventually flows into Pigeon Creek. Fluid in the brine pool was tested with Hach Quantab chloride titrators and tested over 6000 ppm chlorides. The plugging project which includes this well is scheduled to be up for bid in September.
1364506077 2013-03-28 Orphan No Violations At the request of Michele Miller inspected this well. I encountered an electronic surveillance gate after I crossed the bridge over Pigeon Creek. Livestock was everywhere behind the gate so I retreated and went to Mr. Pearl Johnsons residence off Ray Road. He escorted me through the gate and guided me to the well locations. This well is submerged in a pool of water. Gas is bubbling to the surface of the water. Tested the well for Chlorides with the low range (30-600 ppm) Quantab. Measurement exceeded 600 ppm chlorides. Water from the pond is discharging slowly to another small intermittent creek. There does not appear to be any scalding of vegetation surrounding this water. I monitored for methane gas (CH4) with the PhD6 but no response. Mr. Johnson is interested in retaining this well for the gas. I gave him an exempt domestic owner packet. According to him he had not signed a right of entry form previously and would not sign one today even though I offered him one to fill out. There is no tank battery for this well. Access road is the Woodrow Hale Road (T-207) off route 327.

1423850243 2015-02-11 Orphan No Violations My inspection this day, with Jackson County Inspector Kip Thompson, was required to update the Orphan Well Program folder. We found a 30 x 20 area full of brine water with gas bubbling from the center of the hole. No casing is visible. We tested the water with High Range Quantab strip and the Chloride readings maxed out (6000+ ppm). The buffalo kept in the pasture are drinking the water. This well was originally brought to the Divisions attention in 1987 due to its vicinity to a water well @1000 away. The Division has been unable to obtain the records for this water well. Pictures taken, SEM is 256.

1763848105 2017-05-03 Orphan No Violations On location with DOGRM staff members Josh Schiering, Rob Lowe, Tom Smith, and Kris Roser to evaluate this orphan well location for environmental, surveying, and engineering considerations. The well is currently leaking brine to the ground surface and natural gas to the atmosphere. Brine flows from the wellbore and into the drainage ditch from the landowners pond, which ultimately flows to Pigeon Creek to the north. No casing is visible in the well. Photos were taken of the well location and access road.
