0078184390 | 2016-05-05 | Drill / Deepen / Reopen | No Violations | Express Drilling did not arrive on site until after they stopped to pick up a gas detector. The detector was needed in case they drill into a mine void and they encounter gas. They are at 85 ft. today and plan to drill into the void sometime Friday. The drilling will only be conducted during the daylight hours and will shut down at dark. I called Supervisor Brent Bear to inquire about the permit conditions that have been updated and received today. Brent returned my call and advised me that the combination casing plan had been rescinded. The casing plan now is to set conductor casing followed by a mine string. |
0841602534 | 2016-05-04 | Drill / Deepen / Reopen | No Violations | Express Drilling is drilling two wells at the same time on this pad. They are at 60 ft. on both wells drilling a 26 inch hole with an auger bit. They are drilling this as part of a combination conductor, mine string, surface casing plan. They plan to encounter a mine void at 140 ft. to 160 ft. Next they will drill 30 to 50 ft. below the bottom of the mine void to set the combination casing string. Express Drilling will not continue drilling after dark and advised me that drilling will only occur during the daylight hours. |
0883118824 | 2016-07-18 | Plug / Plug Back | No Violations | I am on site today to witness the plugging of the well bore. Alpha Hunter Rig No. 9 drilled to a depth of 204 feet and then hit a mine void. The void was recorded to be at a depth of 204-208 feet. After hitting the void Alpha Rig No 9 then set a bridge plug at a depth of 148 feet, inside the 18.625 casing. O-Tex pumping then used 37 sacks of class A, 15.6 lb./sk., 1.18 yield cement and cement the well bore back to surface. I witnessed good cement returns in the cellar. |
1103674851 | 2016-07-16 | Drill / Deepen / Reopen | No Violations | I am on site today to witness the hydrostatic testing of the mine string cement job that occurred on July 15, 2016. On the day of my inspection I witnessed Alpha Hunter Rig No. 9 drilled two feet out of the cement to a depth of 197 feet and then displaced 250bbls. of fresh water down the well and could not fill the reservoir. A line was run inside the casing and tagged the bottom of the hole indicating that issues were present. After not being able to pass the hydrostatic test the engineers approached fixing the problem by setting a balance plug where they thought the void was present. I will be back on site after the plug is set and the cement has set up for eight hours; to witness another hydrostatic test. |
1261995918 | 2016-05-04 | Drill / Deepen / Reopen | No Violations | On the day of my inspection accompanied by inspector Mark Moreland, I witnessed Express Energy Services is on site with an auger rig in the process of drilling the combination string. At the time of my inspection I found that Express has drilled 60 feet. |
1470231722 | 2016-07-17 | Drill / Deepen / Reopen | No Violations | I am on site today accompained by inspector Scott Scheiner to witness the hydrostatic testing of the mine string cement job that occurred on July 15, 2016. Previously on this date the casing did not pass the hydrostatic test and another plug was set down hole. On the day of my inspection I witnessed Alpha Hunter Rig No. 9 drilled two feet out of the cement to a depth of 199 feet and then displaced 89bbls. of fresh water. The hole was loaded and held static fluid levels for 30 min. Alpha Hunter Rig No. 9 will now proceed to drill the surface casing section of the well bore. |
1497445896 | 2017-06-14 | Final Restoration | No Violations | I am on site today to perform a final restoration inspection for this permit number. This well was plugged on 7/19/16. The cellar ring is still in place but has been filled to grade with gravel. The ring will be removed when the pad itself is reclaimed after the other wells have been plugged. The well is located on a pad with three other producing wells. No land reclamation will be required for this permit until all wells on the pad have been plugged and abandoned. The soil stockpile from the pad is still preserved for reclamation use. The final restoration for this permit number is now considered to be complete per ORC 1509.072(B). |
1754747348 | 2016-05-08 | Casing String Witnessed | No Violations | Express Energy has reach total depth @ 100 in the 36 open hole section of this well bore. The 30 welded conductor pipe was ran to total depth. Express Energy was on site to cement the casing with 275 sacks of Class A cement. Cement returns to surface were established. |
2032252982 | 2016-07-15 | Casing String Witnessed | No Violations | I am on site today accompanied by Inspector Joe Zollars to witness the running and cementing of 18.625 inch mine casing. Alpha Drilling drilled a 24 inch diameter hole to a depth of 195 feet and set 195 feet of 18.625 inch casing. O-Tex pumped 460 sacks of class H cement, 1.2 yield and 15.6 pound per gallon. Cement did not returned to surface. The wiper plug landed and pressure was increased to approximately 500 pounds per square inch (psi) over pump pressure, the casing held approximately 600 psi for 5 minutes. 5 barrels of cement was pumped through 124 feet of 1 inch tremie pipe on the backside of the 18.625 inch casing to set basket, after setting for 2 hours, cement was pumped to surface and remained static. |
