Inspector will provide her the orphan program list and info on getting well transferred to their name and applying for a plugging report. |

This well is on the Pleasant Hill Mobile Home Park property and Birch Realty out of Michigan is the landowner. Well owner must register the well with the division, apply for a permit to plug the well, and then plug the well. Well must be plugged within 180 days. Contact Erica Freeman at 614-265-6900 for additional help with getting the well registered. The well contains 8 outside diameter with 7 casing equipped with a wellhead. This well has a gas packer with 1 line and a 2 line. The 1 is leaking a small amount of gas. The rods are still in the hole and the pumping unit is no longer present. There is charring on the fitting indicating the presence of previous burning. There is also misc. oilfield debris scattered in the general vicinity. |

Fire Chief Polen (740-282-9601) stated that someone lit the vent on the well and it had a 2-3 flame. He stated that this was possibly the Ault well and recalled this same thing happening several years ago. I was escorted by Chief Polen to the well and using GPS coordinates obtained, identified the well to be the Ault Rd 1 well. The well is located on a gravel 4wd road. There is a rotating table located near the wellhead but no associated tank battery. The well was not currently on fire during my inspection, but there were burn marks on the wellhead and the vegetation surrounding the well was scorched. The well card for this well has no details available for the well, only a permit issued date of 4-25-1922. Rods are still present on the wellhead but the pump jack has been removed, there is a very slight smell of gas from the well but no constant flow. This well is listed as historical production and there is no current associated owner for the well. Chief Polen does not have an immediate concern for the well, but is worried that if the vegetation around the wellhead dries and the well catches fire again that the well could cause a fire in the woods. This will be referred to Jefferson Inspector Dylan Pendleton and Supervisor Brent Bear. |

Current well ownership is under investigation, as RBDMS listed the well as historic owner. The wellhead is located on the south side of Little Island Creek with the entry point is on the north. The perennial stream must be crossed to access the well. The well contains 8 outside diameter with 7 casing equipped with a wellhead. This well has a gas packer with 1 line and a 2 line. The 1 is leaking a small amount of gas. The rods are still in the hole and the pumping unit is no longer present. There is charring on the fitting indicating the presence of previous burning. There is also misc. oilfield debris scattered in the general vicinity including a 1/3 of a 100bbl tank that is leaking degraded oil onto the ground. The leak originates from beneath the remainder of the tank. Affected area is approximately 3x5 and has some pooling of degraded within the 3x5 area. Leaking tank and affected area are on the creek bank with the potential to contaminate the creek. There is a pumphouse, engine, and bullwheel approximately 100 west of the wellhead, continuing out the quad path. |
