0277504799 2011-12-13 Administrative Inspection No Violations A meeting was conducted at the residence of Mr. Robert Hurley regarding this well situated on his property. At the time of this meeting, Mr. Hurley believed that he may have acquired the well with the property approximately 40 years ago and could possibly be the well owner. Mr. Hurley further stated that the well provided natural gas to his residence until the water broke-in on the casing. He wanted to continue receiving natural gas therefore,a service rig was brought onto the location around the 1980s, but were unable to bail off the water. Mr. Hurley was advised of well ownership and registration requirements with the Division and agreed to locate any documentation that would prove ownership.
1352137824 2011-10-04 Production Wells No Violations An inspection of this well was requested by Mr. Edward Folk, a non-related landowner, for his friend that lived on an adjacent property. The idle well was situated approximately 50 from State Route 79, and approximately 30 from an intermittent stream. The well consisted of 8 drive pipe with 7 casing and no wellhead. The 7 casing contained a welded cap/plate on the top and a 1 diameter fitting with a threaded cap installed on the side of the casing. There were no production lines attached to the well, or storage tank(s) located on the property. The well showed no signs of fluid or gas leakage at the surface. At time of the inspection, RBDMS showed Historic Owner for this well. The landowner will be contacted to discuss well status. A GPS reading was obtained and recorded for the well.
1440659854 2012-10-17 Orphan No Violations A follow-up inspection revealed that the well remained idle with no discharge of fluid or gas. As previously mentioned, the well was situated approximately 50 from SR 79 and 30 from an intermittent stream. Although a lease road did not exist, the well could be accessed off SR 79. The oilfield debris on this property was minimal with only a 10 section of 1.5 steel line located alongside the intermittent stream. In regards to overhead obstruction, a service rig would likely encounter a branch from a tree that contained a 4.5 diameter trunk. Initially, the landowner, Mr. Robert Hurley had thought that the well came with the purchase of property, but was unable to locate any documentation showing well ownership. Mr. Hurley requested the plugging and abandonment of this well and filed a Right of Entry form with the Division of Oil & Gas Resources Management (DOGRM). A title search conducted by the DOGRM also confirmed no documented assignment of this well to Mr. Hurley.
