The soil around the well and pumping unit consisted of old dried up oil. An inspection of the tank battery revealed (2) 100 barrel tanks inside an earthen dike and (1) 100 barrel tank and (1) 50 barrel tank outside the dike. A scalded area was observed below the tank battery area. A phone call was placed to well owner Rodney Adams. Mr. Adams stated that the 50 barrel tank was leaking brine and decided to pull it and one of the 100 barrel tanks as well. Mr. Adams was instructed to remove soil around well, remediate scalded area below tank battery, and post proper identification at tank battery and/or well. Time of inspection: 2:15 PM. Instructed the well owner to cleanup pollution and contamination around the wellhead and build dike wall for the earthen dike. Note: An old bare area extends below dike location with no wall into field approx 50 x 10-20.
