In the process of conducting inspections, I had requested Mr. Porterfield to meet in the field to discuss idle wells and also confirm well(s), in which he had allegedly owned but were still shown under previous owner (Wallick Petroleum). On 5/16/2012, I met with Mr. Porterfield and we came across this location, in the pasture field alongside SR 586. During the inspection, oil stained ground with no visible casing at the surface. This area was observed near an old steel line and remnants of a clay pile still existed. At time of inspection, this well location was not accurate and would require research. Mr. Porterfield stated that well should have been further out in the field. A follow-up inspection will be conducted to un-earth contaminated area (approx 2 x 5) and verify if this could have been a plugged and abandoned well that is now leaking. |
