Then proceeded to the location of the two wells, Luke Smith with Survey Section Surveyed the location of the two wells, the Lat/Longs were recorded as follows 41.27612, -81.98586. Then proceeded to check the Location from the Oil and Gas Well Locator Web Page to confirm there is no well location at the following Lat/Long 41.27638, -81.98841, and found no evidence of any well this location. This property is to the south and the recorded landowner is Enderlein Denise per Auditor Wed Site. |
| 1530279043 | 2018-06-20 | Production Wells | No Violations | I conducted a 2nd compliance inspection today and met with Mr. Dusky (landowner) and Lucas Smith (ODNR Survey Section) to survey in and obtain accurate GPS coordinates for the wells found in the inspection completed on 6/7/18 on property owned by Ron Dusky at 14360 Cowley Road. The surveyed GPS coordinates of the two wells were recorded as 41.276812, -81.98586. This places these well casings on the Dusky property.
I checked for any available information for these wells in the Division Database. The Division Oil and Gas Well Locator shows a well located on the Denise Enderlein property located south of and adjacent to the Dusky property. This well is shown as the Noble #1, API 34-093-2-0060-00-00, was drilled by Ohio Fuel Gas Company in 1928 and was plugged in 1936, per the Ohio Geological Survey Well Card. This well is located approximately 700 feet west-southwest of the well casings found on the Dusky property. There is no plugging report on file for API 34-093-2-0060-00-00 and the Division surveyor attempted to locate this well using the coordinates shown in the Division database but found no evidence of a well this location. However, it appeared that this area had been logged within the past several years and the ground was covered with debris making it difficult to conduct a detailed well search. It is possible that the well on the Dusky property is API 34-093-2-0060-00-00.

He proceeded to show me the two wells on his property. The two well bores consisted of two pieces of casing approximately 24 inches long that have rusted off at ground level. The one casings is 10 inches inside diameter casing and the other is 8 inches inside diameter casing. A natural gas odor was present within a 2-foot radius of the deteriorated casings. These wells will be Referred to Orphan Well Program for evaluation.
I reviewed the Oil and Gas Well Locator which indicated a well location on the property to the southwest, approximately 750 feet from the wells I found. This well was drilled by Ohio Fuel Gas Company and was abandon in 1936 per Geological Survey Well Card. There is no plugging report on file. Will review this area when I meet with ODNR Survey Crew. |

He proceeded to show me the two wells on his property. The casing in each wellbore has rusted off at ground level. One wellbore contained 10-inch inside diameter (ID) casing and the second wellbore, located three (3) feet to the north, contained 8-inch ID casing. The wellbore containing the 10-inch diameter casing is believed to be the oil and gas well and the wellbore containing the eight (8) inch diameter casing is believed to be a water well associated with the drilling of the oil and gas well. Both casings appeared to be filled with soil and debris to the surface. A natural gas odor was present within a 2-foot radius of these casings. There is no production and/or storage equipment associated with these wells. They will be referred to Orphan Well Program for evaluation.
I will schedule to meet with ODNR Survey Crew as soon as they are available.
