1275582157 | 2010-06-02 | Orphan | No Violations | Called by Elyria Fire Department to assist in determining gas odor at 47 Hawthorne Place in Elyria. Geisel Plumming was jack hammering floor in bedroom of apartment # 1. Floor broke thru into an old gas well vault 4 under floor. Gas was leaking at 57% lel. Called Ron Gibson to assist Geisel plummer in installing a temporary vent. On 6-2-2010 myself and fire department tested the room and the vent and had 0% lel. Columbia Gas of Ohio will not turn the gas back on due to PVC pipe in vent and gas under floor. John Morgan, building owner and Columbia Gas are discussing next step. I advised Mr. Morgan to remove bedroom floor before I can determine what the gas source is. I notified Mike McCormac of the situation. |
