0435593915 2013-01-09 Production Wells No Violations I inspected this well and found one pump jack with electric motor on the wellhead. I could not determine the pressure on the tubing or casing as there were no gauges installed on either. There was a small drip tank with a residential type regulator and gas meter installed on the casing. A small well identification sign was posted on the pump jack and the area around the unit was well maintained. I did notice that a small amount of crude oil was leaking from the stuffing box and accumulating on the wellhead and dripping onto the limestone below. It appeared that the stuffing box rubbers may need to be tightened or changed out. I also noticed that a large tree branch had fallen onto the electrical line for the pump jack and was causing the line to hang low and possibly snap from the pole. The location of this low hanging line was along the northern edge of the lease road and approx. 500 ft. west of the tank battery. The tank battery contained one 210 bbl. steel oil storage tank, one in ground concrete brine storage tank, one vertical oil and gas separator unit and one gas meter run with a small drip assembly. The proper identification sign was posted on the tank and no visible leaks were detected on the steel tank or piping within the tank battery. The dike was in good shape with high sides and the area within and around the dike was well maintained. It was determined that this tank battery also handles production for the Shade #1 well. I contacted Jerry Reeves of the D.A. Waldron Co. and advised him of the leaking stuffing box on the well and low hanging electrical line. Jerry advised me that he would get in touch with the pumper and repair those items immediately.
