1175931091 | 2017-02-13 | Production Wells | No Violations | I received a call this morning from Emergency Responder Trish Cartmell after she had received a call on this well. The call stated a tree had fallen and hit a house meter and the lines and broke them off and the landowner had shut the well off to stop the leak. I arrived on location and the landowner of the property next to this well approached me and stated he had called Eclipse, who was his last known contact for this well, and told them that after the power had gone out and he lost house gas. Emergency Responder Nate Lang arrived on location and we went back to look at the well and try to make contact with the landowner whos property the well is on. Brian Mayle is the landowner of the property the well is located on and can be contacted at 740-683-5417. As we went back to the well we did not hear any leaks as the well was shut off by the landowner. M&Rs pumper arrived on site and helped us look for the busted line and we could not find it. We asked him to turn the well back on to listen for any leaks. We were unable to hear any at first until we walked down the driveway a little bit. The busted line was about 30 feet away from the landowner house and directly across from the back of the house. We asked the pumper to shut the well back off to stop the leak and to begin fixing the pipe. Most of the pipe and the house gas meter were unable to be salvaged so the pumper called to have new ones made up to replace the broken ones. He told Nate and I he should have it fixed and back in working order by the end of the day. The well is equipped with a 4 1/2 inch diameter wellhead, 2 inch diameter production lines, 2 inch diameter production tubing, and a 50 barrel steel tank was near the wellhead that is used when the well is swabbed clean. As stated there is a house gas meter down the drive near the woods that leads to the property next to this property that is used for house gas. The meter for this well is right as you pull into the drive on the right. Besides the small |
