1137263756 2011-01-02 Production Wells No Violations FOLLOW UP TO NOV # 1293994872 Dennis Devers of OEPA called on 1/1/11 to inform me of oil spill to Jonathon Creek. EMA of Musk. finally found oil entering creek down stream of this well. Approx. 8 bbls total fluid left tank some 6 weeks ago. Operator cleaned up spill and spread straw over bare soil. Speculate that most of the oil must have soaked into the soil and recent heavy rains raised the oil and it ran down a feeder stream in front of the tanks and put oil into Jonathon Creek. The well is owned by G W Thompson and is on the bond of R C Poling. Since the spill was found at night, booms were placed into the feeder stream and clean-up wasnt started until daylight on 1/2/11. The feeder stream had several pools thick with crude oil. There were at least 5 areas in Jonathon Creek where oil had eddied along shore. Booms were placed in Jonathon Creek to contain the oil from the feeder stream and parallel to the bank to contain the eddied oil prior to starting clean-up. Priorities were 1) Cleaning the feeder stream from US 22 culvert to Jonathon Creek. 1) Cleaning eddied oil in Jonathon creek. 2) Cleaning up feeder stream from the tank to the US 22 culvert. 3) Removing oil and contaminated soil and straw from in front of the tank, and 4) to dike or remove the tank battery. Requested that valid IDs be affixed to the tanks. Up to 7 people were working on the cleanup this day. Estimate that approximately 2 bbls of oil got to Jonathon Creek, most of which is gone. Estimate that ~10-15 gallons remains on creek to be cleaned up. Most within 600 feet of where it entered from the feeder stream. There are 2 or three isolated spots of oil farther down stream and above the dam.
1248567713 2012-04-16 Production Wells No Violations On the day of my inspection I found a pumping unit at the well site, the well could be capable of production, the permit number is posted at the well site, there is (1) one hundred barrel production tank/ plastic brine tank/ knockout/ separator/ drip setting inside a containment dike.
