1476641218 | 2016-10-16 | Production Wells | No Violations | On this day I received a call at 12:30 pm from Inspector Eric Conrad who indicated the Caldwell Fire Chief Aaron Reed contacted Him in regards to a flow line leaking. I responded and upon my arrival found that a nearby well believed to be associated with the flowline had been shut in by the Fire Chief. The Chief who resides in the area of the well witnessed the flow line rupture. My inspection found approximately 2 gallons of Crude oil substance dispersed on vegetation and in a stream bed where the flow line had ruptured. I utilized spill rags and one oil absorbent boom to contain the product. The last know producer was contacted at 740-732-7251 and indicated She was receiving monies for the production but was not the responsible party and referred me to a Greg Wells 419-516-1095 & 330-863-1139, with an attempt to contact Mr. Wells unsuccessful. Photographs were taken. The Divisions Duty Officer notified prior to my response. The well is unregistered and producing gas into a Knox Energy system that is located in close proximity to the well. The call came in from the Caldwell Fire Chief as a private 3rd party call. The well was also equipped with 2 production casing only at surface that was selling into a 2 steel sales line that at some point underground changed over to the 2 plastic sales line that had ruptured. No production tank or metering equipment was present. No well identification was present. |
