0980479668 2016-11-10 Production Wells No Violations I accompanied Idle and Orphan inspector Linn Parkins on the inspection of this well to start the process of putting it in the I/O program. Inspector Parkins will be taking this well over and seeing if it qualifies for the Idle and Orphan program at this time.
2137389100 2016-11-09 Orphan No Violations Orphan well initial investigation, accompanied by Inspector Justin Smith: Upon inspection, it is observed that this well is idle and is shut-in. The visible well casing consists of 4.5 diameter production casing with a 4-2 diameter swage nipple, 2 ball valve, 2-1 diameter swage nipple, 1 ball valve, and associated 1 diameter fittings. A slight odor of natural gas is present around the well head, however the PhD6 gas meter did not indicate the presence of methane or H2S. There are 1 diameter steel and plastic flow lines which are partially buried and partially exposed. The flow lines lead away from the well head toward the west and their destination is unknown. No tanks or other production equipment were found to be associated with the well. There is a 12 x 18 depression 20 northeast of the well head which is void of vegetation, indicating it may have been a tank location or a brine disposal pit at one time. There is a mature tree 3 northeast of the well head, and the area around the well is overgrown with tree saplings and brushy vegetation. The original access road grade is intact until it reaches the adjacent landowners lawn. An alternate access road may need to be sought to plug the well. Overhead power lines are present which cross the access road, however they are 25 or more above the ground and would not likely affect access. Further research will be done to determine whether or not the well is orphan. Photos were taken of the well location and potential ingress/egress.
