While I was on location the land owners of the well showed up and asked me why I was there. I explained to them that I was there doing a follow-up inspection on the well. Then they told me that they own the well. They said that Bethel Resources went bankrupt years ago and they took the well over from there lease. I asked them if they had ever sent in any paperwork to Columbus for this well and they told me no. I gave them a form 7 and told them they would have to fill this out and send it in to Columbus. I let them know that this well has to be on a bond or the state would put it in the idle orphan program and the well would be plugged. They said they would take care of the paperwork. |

I inspected this well on 1/09/2016. When I was at the well then the land owners stopped me and asked me what I was doing there. I explained to them that I was the county Oil and Gas inspector for ODNR and that I was doing a field inspection on the well. They told me that they owned the well and have been using it for house gas for years. I explained to them that the well would have to be transferred in their name because it was still under Bethel Resources Inc. I gave them the paperwork to do it and a contact in Columbus to help them. They never filed the paperwork. I left my business card at a house that I thought might be theirs. I got a phone call back at 8pm and the guy who called me said he did not own the wells but he did let me know where they lived. I will go back out to there house and try to get in contact with them. |
