0077342314 | 2014-01-13 | Plug / Plug Back | No Violations | I was on location to witness plugging operations. Sutton Pump was on location steaming out the 100 barrel tank. They cleaned out the tank and hauled it off of location. Nicks Well Plugging began excavating around the wellhead. The 8.625 casing was found 6 below grade. The excavated hole was very unstable and caving in on the sides. It was decided that a piece of 8.625 casing would need to be welded on to the existing casing to bring it above grade and that a steel box would need to be placed in the excavated hole for stability and safety. The tubing was pulled from the hole and the necessary changes were made to safely plug the well. Plugging operations will resume tomorrow. |
0369571252 | 2014-01-15 | Plug / Plug Back | No Violations | I was on location to witnes the plugging of this well. Nicks Well Plugging pulled 66 joints, rigged up to the casing, and began circulating the hole. They then mixed and pumped 13 barrels of cement slurry. The slurry was displaced to 520 with 8.4 barrels of water. Nicks pulled 17 more joints and rigged up to the casing. They established circulation and then mixed and pumped 13 barrels of cement slurry. Cement circulated to the surface and the hole was topped off after pulling the last 6 joints of casing. 93 joints of casing were recovered during the job. The cement was holding in the hole and the 8.625 casing was cut off and the ID plate was attached. No violations. |
1390493480 | 2014-01-10 | Plug / Plug Back | No Violations | I was on location to witness the plugging of this well. Nicks Well Plugging was on location and spotting equipment. They took the wellhead apart and there was no pressure on the casing. They began digging around the wellhead and exposed a piece of rough cut, 6 pipe around the 4.5 casing. The 8.625 casing head was not encountered and they would need to bring in the mini excavator to find the top of the head. They decided to run tubing into the hole to spot the bottom plug and sat down on something hard at a depth of 3381. They rotated on the obstruction but were unable to get any deeper. They decided to shut down and return Monday with the swivel head so they could circulate and rotate on the obstruction. No vioilations. |
1390577985 | 2014-01-14 | Plug / Plug Back | No Violations | I was on location to witness the plugging of this well. Nicks Well Plugging tripped the tubing back into the hole and rigged up the swivel head. They circulated on the obstruction and began rotating the tubing with the power tongs. After several minutes, the obstruction was cleared, and Nicks was able to run the tubing to 4455. They racked in to the tubing, began pumping water ahead, and then mixed and pumped 6.3 barrels of cement slurry. The slurry was displaced to 4100 with 16 barrels of water. They pulled the tubing and ran in with the knife tool. The 4.5 casing was ripped at 2958 and 4-30 joints and two short joints were pulled to spot the Big Lime plug. Nicks rigged up, broke circulation, then mixed and pumped 18 barrels of cement slurry. They displaced the slurry to 2538 with 41 barrels of water. They decided to pull casing until dark and return in the morning to finish the job. No violations. |
