2003670320 2014-07-14 Production Wells No Violations I was on location to investigate complaint #4746. The complainant states that he receives gas for his home from the Davis #1, which is owned by Enervest Operating. He stated that there is a drain tile that collects water from his yard around his house. The domestic gas line that runs from the well to his home is near the drain tile. He stated that there is methane in the drain tile in his basement and it lit when someone used a lighter as a light source. The methane in the drain tile quickly dissipates when the cap is removed and a gas meter was used by the home owner to confirm that there are no gas concentrations within the house. The well is a pump jack well with a house gas connection. The tank battery consists of ID sign, 100bbl production tank, poly brine tank, vertical separator and a dike. The pressure on the domestic gas line at the well is 24 psi and 17 psi at the residence. Enervest will not help the complainant with potential gas line leak. I suggested that they hire a contractor to try to identify a potential leak in the line, and also gave them my contact information. Until the source of methane is identified I recommended them to monitor the drain tile to make sure no explosive concentrations of gas build up inside the house. They are going to have a Dominion gas line ran to their house and check with Dominion if they can help identify any leaks in their lines.
