2012-09-17 | Drill / Deepen / Reopen | No Violations | I inspected the drilling operations at the Whitacre 1 (34151258120000) site on September 17, 2012. The drilling contractor for this well is Advent Drilling. The access road is graveled from Whitacre Avenue to the well site. The working pit and blow pit are located to the east of the wellhead. Both pits have five feet of free board. At the time of my inspection, Advent was drilling a 7.875 inch borehole and the current depth was 1528 feet. A copy of the permit is located in the dog house. The top of the Berea was recorded at 897 feet.
2012-11-05 | Preliminary Restoration | No Violations | I inspected the Whitacre 1 (34151258120000) well site on November 5, 2012. My inspection found the access road graveled to the wellhead and shows no signs of erosion. The drilling pits have been filled and the site has been rough graded. Preliminary restoration is due by April 2013. There is a pumping unit at the site.
2012-09-14 | Drill / Deepen / Reopen | No Violations | 14.75 borehole drilled to 34. Site is in good condition and drilling operations are under way.
2012-09-25 | Drill / Deepen / Reopen | No Violations | I inspected the Whitacre 1 (34151258120000) site on September 25, 2012. The pits are open and contain fluid but there is 6 feet of free board. C&T Energy has not solidified or reclaimed the pits yet.
2012-09-13 | Drill / Deepen / Reopen | No Violations | I received a call from Rob Frock at C&T Energy stating that Advent Drilling was on site and ready to spud the well. At the time of my inspection, the drilling crew was completing repairs to the rig. The tentative schedule was to spud 09/14/2012.
2013-04-26 | Production Wells | No Violations | I was informed by the Uniontown office that a complaint had been filed by Debbie Hartwig , 1833 Whitacre Ave NE, Minerva, Oh 44657. Mrs. Hartwig complaint was about a strong gas odor she noticed earlier that morning. The well in closest proximity is the Whitacre # 1 ( 34-151-2-5812 ). Upon my inspection I found the tank battery consisting of a 210 Bbl. Stock tank, 50 Bbl. Brine tank and a vertical separator. The well was comprised of a pumping unit and associated wellhead connections. All equipment at the wellhead was in servicable and working order, free of any leaks. The gas odor appears to stem from a Dump Control valve that was not properly calibrated. The Dump valve was constantly dumping into the tank thus the continuous venting of gas which Mrs. Hartwig noticed. I contacted Jamie ( pumper ) who fixed the Dump Control. I spoke with Rob Frock of C&T Energy and advised him that if subsequent complaints are received a charcoal filter will be warranted. I advised Mrs. Hartwig as to the problem and remedy and if she noticed the gas odor again to please advise.
