An excavator was removing the solid cement chunks from the working pit and caused a rip in the liner to occur. While moving the cement chunks from the working pit to the blow pit the chunks, when placed in the pit, ripped the liner on the blow pit. The working pit was pumped out, excavated dry and relined. The freshwater mud in the blow pit was tested for chlorides using Hach Quantabs and had 289ppm chlorides in it. The mud and fluid was pumped from the blow pit to the working pit and a load of dust was brought in to solidify the residual mud in the blow put. Once the dust was in place the blow pit was relined and drilling continued. There are no violations at this time. |
