2060173329 | 2016-10-26 | UrbanProduction Wells | No Violations | The Uniontown office received an inquiry from Mark Moore ( prospective purchaser of property ) regarding a natural gas odor they noticed when inspecting the property. Access was gained from North Revere Rd. on a gravel driveway also utilized by the residents. The well is operated by an electric pump jack. The well head was fenced, locked and properly identified. An earthen dike partially surrounds the well head. There were contaminated oil absorbing diapers lying around the well head and old v-belts, from the pump jack, on the ground. A domestic gas tie - in, with meter, was attached to the well head. A small electric natural gas compressor was present in the well head fence. The tank battery was comprised of one (1) 210 barrel oil tank, one (1) 45 barrel poly brine tank and a horizontal separator, all of which which secured with a locked chain link fence. An earthen dike surrounded the tank battery, which was properly identified with signage. The load lines were plugged. The inspection hatch was left open to accommodate a gauge pole. I observed that the equipment had the proper spacing. I called Cal Marks ( Transcontinetal Oil and Gas ) and requested that the well head be cleaned of any grease and crude oil, remove the contaminated diapers and spent v-belts. I also requested that the gauge pole in the 210 barrel tank be removed and the inspection hatch be kept closed except when gauging the tank. While I was still on location the well tender showed and corrected all the items I spoke with Mr. Marks about. The well was current in the reporting of production volumes. The residence, where the natural gas, was located approximately 200 northeast of the tank battery. I did not detect any odors of natural gas when walking the property. I spoke with Mr. Moore ( prospective purchaser ) informing him of the corrective measures taken and that the open inspection hatch might have allowed excessive odors to escape the tank. No violations identified during this inspection. |
