1067011795 2003-10-20 Orphan No Violations CASE 03-042 The Columbus office received a complaint from Martha Bunch at 2311 Boston Mills Road (330-659-4061 or 216-410-4330) regarding a possible orphan well on this property. The property has recently been sold and the closing is being delayed until the status of this well has been determined. I inspected the well with Ms. Bunch. The well is located along a ridge line in heavy woods northeast of the house. The equipment consists of 5 casing and a swedge. The two ports on the wellhead have plugs and the swedge has a valve. There was a small gas odor detected around the wellhead. Debris around the well includes the old mast and short pieces of 2 tubing. There was no evidence of a tank battery. Ms. Bunch stated that while she knew it was there, she has never used gas from the well. There was no evidence of any domestic or commercial hookup to the well. RBDMS has no owner identified, no production, and no old file images for this permit. Steve Opritza is researching Geological Survey records for any information on this well. It is recommended that the complaint be resolved and the well transferred to the orphan program. Ms. Bunch has signed and returned the application and the right-of-entry release.
