| 1336081701 | 2016-12-08 | Exempt Well Pre Transfer | No Violations | Previous reports from inspector Cindy VanDyke have the coordinates for this well at the location of an Enervest well permit number 23284 the corrected coordinates for this well are 39.51691, -81.47701 and, this well is near the Muskingum River bank in the middle of a corn field. The inspection today revealed that this well is a casing well equipped with 10 inch diameter surface pipe sticking out of the surface, 5 3/16 inch diameter production casing and wellhead, and 1 1/2 inch diameter production tubing. The well currently has no production lines on the wellhead and all valves are currently closed and plugs are put in where they can be to stop any leaks. The original line that looks to have been the 2 inch diameter steel production line appears to have been cut some time ago. There is a odor of gas around the well and my gas meter picked up no signs of H2S. You can hear a slight gas leak coming from a small silver valve on the wellhead but it is very small. This well has no associated tanks with it. I met with the landowner David DeLong to have him show me where this well is since I was unable to locate the well at first. He stated that the land it was on was owned by his father who had passed away and left the land to him in his will. He rents the land to Gary Lang for farming purposes and he suggested that David contact the state about this well so something can be done on this. After speaking with him David he said that if he had to he would plug the well as he has no intentions of using it for house gas or producing the well. I told him I would contact Supervisor Eric Conrad and see what options he had with the known information. After speaking with Supervisor Conrad he suggested I be in contact with Inspector Cindy VanDyke about this well and see if the well can be put into the Idle & Orphan program. She then contacted David and told him where to find the paper work for the Idle & Orphan program if he wished to go the route. I then contacted David later that d |
