0755031465 | 2012-02-24 | Production Wells | No Violations | At 5 PM on 2/23/12, an oil spill was reported by company rep. They discovered a line leak in a small creek running into a 1 acre pond and report less than 2 bbl escaped. A series of booms had been placed at base of the ponds to prevent further run-off and most of the oil had accumulated in the grassy, brushy edge of the pond by the source of the leak. There is only a couple feet from the leak in the creek down to the edge of the pond. John Root, landowner, is very concerned when I did my inspection on 2/24 AM with Mike Sherron of OEPA but believe after talking, he has a better idea of the damage. Only a sheen over part of the pond, and windy today blowing it into the banks where it can be picked up with pads. The vacuum truck on location is sucking up the free oil, the rest is going into pads. The spill should be cleaned up in next few days. OEPA is issuing a violation. The well is equipped with pumping unit, the 100 bbl tank has good identification. 2/27/12 - clean-up is continuing - also all the oil is removed. |
1330110820 | 2012-02-24 | Production Wells | No Violations | My inspection this day due to oil spill digcovered last night. Landowner John Root called it into OPEA, John Schneider called me with it at 5 PM on 2/23/12. John reports a 2 steel flow line from pumping unit to tank developed a hole in it and spilled less than 2 bbl into landowners pond. Stonebridges crew out to begin clean-up last night, back this morning cleaning banks of pond and sucking up oil at the leak into the vac truck - 75% of the pond has no oil or sheen on it.. The well has been turned off and line emptied. The pond was built in recent years after the landowner tried to get Stonebridge to move their line, the clean-up crew reports, and the pond is very close to the flow line. They will now find the leak and repair the line. The 100 bbl tank has complete identification, fair dike that does not meet SPCC regulations, a separator and meter with a current chart. OEPA Mike Sherron is present this day and he says will give them a violation. I will continue to monitor the clean-up until it is complete. |
1797591741 | 2006-08-09 | Production Wells | No Violations | Made it to tank but well across the creek, current chart in meter, good IDs, good dike, looks like no one has been to well, not turning production in. |
