0319264345 | 2014-08-14 | Administrative Inspection | No Violations | J. Glascock and A. Thomas, DOGRM county inspectors, took the original complaint from the landowner, G. McCarthy. Pictures show a large, deep open hole in his pasture field. When I conducted my inspection, I found the hole had been covered over with dirt. There still is an indentation in the ground where the well is, but no open hole. The landowner suggested that I ask Carl Heinrich for information. Mr Heinrich provided a drilling record for the well which was drilled in 2/80. According to the report, they had problems with the hole from the start. They only set 64 of 8 5/8 diameter casing and had problems with the surface cement job. At a depth of 1875, they lost the drill pipe and other equipment down the hole. There is no mention in this report of them recovering the tools or that they plugged this well. There is no casing visible in the well. A copy of this drilling report is included in the well file. Pictures taken, SEM is 187. |
1408622128 | 2014-08-21 | Not Drilled | No Violations | I did research on this lease at the courthouse yesterday which found that Energy Unlimited signed the original lease in 19-- , Vol 211, Page 544 and was transferred to American Petrol in 19--, companies both owned by Jim Mitchell of Marietta. The acerage in question was later assigned to Carl Heinrich in 19--. This hole in question is reported as never drilled yet the landowner thinks it was. The well is listed in RBDMS in Am. Petrols name so it was permitted before Carl Heinrich acquired the lease (if Carl had drilled it, would be listed as his well in RBDMS). Without records showing the well drilled and a date, it is difficult to say who can be responsible. Both of Jim Mitchells companies are out of business. I talked with Carl Heinrich this day to see what he knew about the well and he recalls that Petrol drilled a lost hole and was going to dig in his files to see if he had more information. When I looked at the well, there was no wellbore showing, only a earthen depression in the ground. Wash Co Inspector at the time, Jake Glascock, said he had seen a hole and was going to try and find his pictures so I can better assess the situation. Spent @ 3 hrs. yesterday at the courthouse. |
1742858984 | 2013-01-31 | Production Wells | No Violations | This inspection was part of a complaint concerning a well that was recently exposed at the surface on Gordon McCarthys property. At the surface, the hole was around 2 X 2.5 and had a fluid level around 15 in depth. There was no casing in the visible section of the hole. The landowner had told Rocky King that the well was a lost hole. I talked with the landowner, and he said Mr. Heinrich, of Heinrich Enterprises, has some kind of record stating the hole was an abandoned Berea well. He also stated Heinrich Enterprises stated they do not have anything to do with the well. The state has no records regarding a lost hole or the plugging of the well. Well was permitted for the Berea and is listed in RBDMS as ND (Not Drilled). Pictures and video were taken of location and well. The number listed for Petroel is no longer in service. I have discussed the well with Idle and Orphan Program Manager Gene Chini. |
