First I ran the system for 2 pump cycles or about 40 gallons . I checked for chlorides with a low range quantab and had a reading below my detectable range . Next I collected two samples , one presverved with HNO3 and the other unpreserved .I checked fixtures for staining and found a slight amount of brown orange stain on the sink and tub .There was a slight odor of sulfur . I also reviewed the pond and wellsite with the landowner . I found some type of orange brown scum that was on the bottom of the pond . The owner advised me that it had started around the time of the well plugging . I ask if it was now more or less of a problem and he advised me that it was far less . I did not see any orange or brown stain being formed from water well discharge . |
