2015-09-25 | Orphan | No Violations | At the time of the inspection cleanout had continued at 8 am around 800 but the tools hung up in the wellbore. The tools were worked free around 8:30 am and were removed from the well. There was no sign of any mud or debris on the bit at that time. The fluid level in the hole was approximately 40 below grade with oil on top. Around 40 gallons of oil were bailed from the well and then the bailer was ran down to the 800 mark and returned with grayish muddy water indicating the fresh water has swelled shut the shale formation at that depth. Drilling continued at 9:30 am in an attempt to free the obstruction but after getting the tools stuck multiple times the decision was made to wait until the hole is logged before proceeding. A logging crew is scheduled for 9-28-15 to run a log on the 5 5/8 surface casing. The bailer was ran to the obstruction and when brought back out, a two feet long section of wooden rods was stuck in the dart of the bailer. The Contractor will have fishing tools on location on 9-28-2015 to remove any remaining rods.

2015-09-22 | Orphan | No Violations | At the time of the inspection Maumee Stone had completed blasting along the southwest section of the high wall. The plugging contractor, Second Oil Company has brought their service rig on location a have begun to rig up for drilling. They have also brought a 100 barrel cylindrical steel tank on location for the purposes of storing brine water. This water will be left on location to kill the well if necessary. Frantz Enterprises is scheduled to deliver the brine water tomorrow morning. The Contractor is planning on bringing all remaining equipment tomorrow morning and begin drilling shortly after.
2015-09-23 | Orphan | No Violations | At the time of the inspection the plugging contractor, Second Oil Company, has completed the site preparation. A loader from Maumee Stone was on location to spread stone and move equipment. A half tank for drilling was brought on location and filled with fresh water provided by Maumee Stone. Frantz Enterprises brought 80 barrel of brine water and unloaded that into the 100 barrel steel tank already on location. Drilling with the 3.5 cable tools started at noon and by 12:15 pm the tools were below ground level. At that point the 4.5 riser assembly was removed and the well control device was placed on the 7 collar near ground level. Drilling continued until 4:45 pm at a depth of approximately 330 when operations were stopped for the day and the well was shut in. There was oil covering the line and tools when bringing the tools back out but the tools were clean of debris.
2015-09-17 | Orphan | No Violations | At the time of the inspection a berm of stone was put along the top edge of the high wall as a temporary barrier. This was done by Maumee Stone at the request of the Plugging Contractor, Second Oil Ltd. The 5 5/8 and 8 casings were cut off at one foot above ground level. There is solid cement in the annular space between the two casings and solid debris inside the 5 5/8 casing about 6 down. No gas was detected using the state issued hand held gas meter. A 7 collar was welded to a flange that was welded to the 8 casing.

2015-10-05 | Orphan | No Violations | At the time of the inspection a rotary rig had drilled holes for a blast on the high wall next to the Maumee Stone #4. The well was plugged with Class A from 800 to 127 (per StoneCo request) 9-30-15. They are drilling 5 holes, all 55 deep, running north to south along the wall in ten foot increments with the closest hole being ~10 feet east of the well, between the well and the high wall. The blast was 5 tons and took place around noon, delaying cleanout on the Maumee Stone #3 for an hour. The blast caused cracking of the stone around the well but did not have any effect on the well. The spots for a much larger, 60 ton shot were marked around the well and The Division of Oil & Gas will be notified when this blasting takes place to review the impact to the well.
2015-09-24 | Orphan | No Violations | At the time of the inspection drilling had continued at depth of 330 using the 3.5 cable tools. Steady progress was made all morning and at 12:15 pm the measured depth was approximately 800. At that point drilling had slowed but no debris was evident on the bit. The area was periodically monitored for natural gas or Hydrogen Sulfide but no gas was detected at any time during the cleanout process. At 4pm drilling was stopped for the day and the bit was removed from the wellbore with no sign of mud or debris. Cleanout is scheduled to continue on 9-25-2015.
