2576583 Primary Facility 2017-03-27 Routine/Complete Inspection No Violations Noted On March 27, 2017, at 1220 hrs., the Department conducted a routine inspection at the Chesapeake Appalachia LLC Schoonover Well Pad Location in Wysox Township, Bradford County. The Department was represented by Andrew Hobbins, Water Quality Specialist. Nobody was present for Chesapeake.

The E&S plan, site sign and weekly inspection logs were on site and available for review. The slopes of the well pad and the topsoil stockpile were well vegetated. No erosion issues were observed. A series of three infiltration berms were installed at the southeastern corner of the well pad. Compost filter sock was installed down gradient from the infiltration berms. A small area of damaged filter sock was observed. The Department recommends repairing the damaged filter sock.

Two wells were in production phase during the inspection. The wells were labeled and no bubbling was observed in the well cellar. Two GPUs, two production tanks and a compressor were also on site. The production tanks were on secondary c

2643484 Primary Facility 2017-09-26 Site Restoration No Violations Noted On September 26, 2017, the Department conducted a site restoration inspection at the Chesapeake Appalachia LLC, Schoonover Location in Wysox Township, Bradford County. Andrew Hobbins, Water Quality Specialist, represented the Department. Nobody was present for Chesapeake. A Notice of Termination was received by the Department on 9/18/2017.

Generally the well location was determined to meet the requirements of 25 Pa Code 102.22(a)(2)(I) Permanent Stabilization. The slopes of the pad were observed to have greater than 70% perennial vegetation established. PCSM has been addressed with the installation of three infiltration berms.

Two wells were in production during the inspection. Both wells had well tags with the appropriate information. Two production tanks and two GPUs were on site and in good working condition. A compressor was also on site. No stains or puddles were observed on the pad.

Based on the conditions observed during the inspection, the Notice of Termination is recommended for ap

2844927 Primary Facility 2019-02-22 Routine/Complete Inspection No Violations Noted On Month 02/22/2019, Department representative Jared Jacbni conducted a routine site inspection at the Chesapeake Appalachia LLC Schoonover 1H-6H well pad site. The site sign, drilling permits, monthly E&S inspection log, and emergency response plan were onsite for review. Infiltration berms have been installed. No erosion issues were observed. The site is stable and well vegetated meeting the 70% uniform, perennial, vegetative cover. A total of 2 producing wells and one compressor located on this well pad. Both wells are tagged with API/well permit numbers. No bubbling within the cellars was observed as they were filled with frozen water. There are 2 GPUs and 2 steel vertical production fluids tanks onsite. Production fluid tanks were stationed in secondary containment. GPUs were not in secondary containment. Filter berms are in place and functioning well.  Filter socks were not present. The well pad has not been reduced in size.

The Department recommends:
