The area where the well is located is an approximately 6x6 flooded area about 3' deep with water, iron, and sporadic bubbling. No well casing is observed and the bubbling appears to be coming from random spots in the "cellar". The bubbles weren't enough to be detected with an Altair 5x gas meter. The well is in a damp area as there may be some additional water coming from the location. Downstream of this area has some slight sheen in spots and iron staining. This location which was described as a well drilled in the 1930s or 40s was brought to my attention about 2 weeks ago where it was researched, investigated, granted a permit number, and added to the orphan plugging list. No record of a well in this location was found. |
