2463422 | Primary Facility | 2016-03-08 | Incident- Response to Accident or Event | In Compliance with Policy | On Monday, March 7, 2016, a release within containment of approximately 175 gallons of hydraulic oil occurred as a result of a ruptured hose. A service rig was set up on containment and performing work on well 10H when the hose rupture occurred. The bottom wall of the hose ruptured which directed the spraying oil directly down and into the containment. Their environmental contractor responded, using absorbent pads and granules to clean up the oil within containment. The collected waste and all associated containment materials were then transported off-site for disposal. A visual inspection of the area revealed no signs that would suggest a breach of containment.
There were no impacts to the environment resulting from the spill incident. The hydraulic oil release was completely contained and the Department was notified of the incident in accordance with policy. The matter has been determined to be In Compliance with Policy (ICP). No violations are being cited at this time. |
