There appears to have been a recent emergence of a iron laden seep near the well bore. WQS Higgins met onsite with XTO representative Gary Clark. Initially XTO is going to place silt sock to slow any flow down and allow the iron sediment to drop out. Additionally XTO is going to have a small sump excavated near the initial expression of the seep to collect the water and allow the iron sediment to drop out. There was no observed distressed vegetation as a result of the seep. Finally the seep flow did not appear to have reached the Rishell Run flowing below the site. |

Discharge appears to be coming from a naturally-occurring seep and not from the plugged well. Small sump has been excavated to collect the water from this seep.One roll-off box on-site containing excavated soils from creation of sump. Compost sock installed around seep to aid in filtering/controlling fluids to prevent any possible pollutants from reaching WOC. During mtg, a multitude of add’l seeps were identified both above and below the well site, appeared to be of same composition as seep located near wellbore.Based upon Dept’s observations during today’s inspt, this discharge neither appears to be coming from wellbore nor is resulting from any earth disturbance activity of Opr, but rather is consequence of naturally-occurring seep. |
