Mr. Bucheit is unable to identify the constituent(s) released at this time. All visibly impacted materials will be promptly removed in accordance with the Department's Spill Policy. Department observed an active release of what appears to be brine/oil (photo #1). This fluid is leaking from pipe on the south west corner of the site and creating a wet area approximately 2.5'X10" (photo #2). Department contacted operator rep Doug Wadsworth by phone from site. Mr. Wadsworth and well tender responded immediately. Well tender stated he visited site on Monday (4-30-18) and did not observe a release. Well tender also stated well is currently shut in. Department recommends operator follow up with Department regarding site remediation plan/schedule. A violation is being issued fro failure to collect brine or other fluids. A follow up inspection will be conducted at a later date. |
