2745881 Primary Facility 2018-06-21 Complaint Inspection Violation(s) Noted This inspection was performed in response to a report made by a Range Resources representative, to the Department, of a brine spill in Southwest Township, Warren County.

Seigworth, W. #3A (37 -123-39646): Upon receiving notification of this incident, WQS Brian Ayers called Alan Wolf of Range Resources to obtain more information. Alan stated that Range Resources discovered a small hole in the 50 bbl poly brine tank that was associated with the well. The initial discharge of fluid was contained with-in the surrounding dyking. On June 7, 2018 this tank was replaced by a third-party contractor. Alan stated that this contractor likely discharged the fluid from within the dyking onto the surface before replacing the tank. On June 20, 2018, Range Resource’s well tender observed dead vegetation around this well site and DEP was subsequently notified of the situation. Range Resources estimated that approximately seven barrels of brine was released outside of the containment. WQS Brian Ayers and my-self arrived on s

All excavated material that was being stored on sight has been removed. All excavations are still open. Flags, delineating sample locations, have been placed at various places around the spill site. Further progress will be documented in future inspection reports.
