2756013 | Primary Facility | 2018-07-25 | Routine/Complete Inspection | No Violations Noted | Met with operator on site. The operator had previously sampled the gas from the well for concentrations of H2S. Operators gas meter detected between 6 and 12 ppm during his 3 minute sample duration. To compare results, I also ran a 3 minute sample duration with my Department issued Altair 5x multi-gas detector. During my sample duration, the H2S levels fluctuated between 5 and 11 ppm. The gas was sampled from the surface casing wellhead valve, with the probe of the meter inserted directly into a 1/4" valve port.
Operator informed me that he would continue to monitor the well periodically to ensure that the H2S levels do not rise to the Departments reporting threshold of 20 ppm. Should this occur, the operator will immediately report his findings to the Department and take remedial action to comply with Title 25 Chapter 78, 78.77 (c) (d). |
