2644232 | Primary Facility | 2017-09-26 | Routine/Complete Inspection | No Violations Noted | On September 26, 2017, the Department performed an inspection of the Robin Energy Blum#1 CBM well. The well is located in West Finley Twp., Washington Co. The inspection was related to release of mercaptan at the neighboring well site.
The operator plans to begin plugging and reclamation of the well site. The operator purchased the well from Jesmar and during removal of production equipment from a second site, the Hansen#1, a mercaptan tank was discovered. During removal of the tank approximately 2 gallons of mercaptan was released to the trailer and ground. The operator used bleach to oxidize the the mercaptan in the soil and on the trailer and has encased the mercaptan tank in plastic for disposal. The tank is being stored at the Blum 1 CBM well. A meeting is planned in the future with Department to initiate the plugging of the five CBM wells owned by the operator in Washington Co. which are not in production and need to be plugged and reclaimed. |
