2759799 | Primary Facility | 2018-08-02 | Routine/Complete Inspection | In Compliance with Policy | On 8/2/2018 at approximately 0945, I conducted an incident response inspection to a spill of approximately 20 gallons of compressor oil at the Kresic Well Site located in Smith Township, Washington County. I met with Derek Zofchak (Range Resources) at the site to discuss the cause of the spill and the associated remediation response.
At 0102 on 8/2/2018, a Range contractor was inspecting the Kresic well site when they observed an oil stain near the gas lift compressor. The compressor was immediately shut down and taken out of service. Approximately 20 gallons of compressor oil released to the pad. The incident remains under investigation to determine the exact component which had failed on the gas lift compressor. Specialized Professional Services Inc. (SPSI) responded and remediated the impacted area by placing it into two roll-off boxes. The spill was addressed in compliance with the spill policy. |
2762614 | Primary Facility | 2018-08-09 | Complaint Inspection | No Violations Noted | On 8/9/2018 at approximately 1100, I along with Water Quality Specialist Supervisor John Carson (DEP) conducted a site inspection of the Kresic Well Pad located in Smith Township, Washington County. The inspection was in response to a complaint from a nearby landowner who was concerned that a recent spill of compressor oil at the pad would impact their groundwater supply. The complainant also stated that they were concerned about the movement of the access road gate further back onto his property. The following was observed:
