Brine tank appears to be structurally sound, no active leaks observed during inspection. However, during inspection Department observed what appears to be remnants of an old spill, as indicated by visibly stained dirt, stressed and/or dead vegetation. No visible sheen observed, however petroleum odor present.

Additionally, at the time of inspection, no well tag present. Department identified well using GPS coordinates and well records.

Department recommends Operator perform clean-up in accordance with Spill Policy and forward copies of sampling results and remediation reports upon receipt. Department requests Operator provide a written response detailing the cause, time of spill, quantity and type of materials released, the affected media and any surrounding impacts to water supplies and/or buildings, remediation method selected and actions taken to remediate and future actions to prevent such incidents.
