The Operator indicated at that time that a well tender reported an open valve on the brine tank associated with the well and immediately reported the spill to his supervisor who intern notified the Department. At that time of inspection the Operator started the cleanup process. The cleanup consist of excavating the contaminated soil directly adjacent to the contaminated are. Approximately 12 to 16 inches of soil lay on top of a red colored clay layer. Also excavated was a drainage ditch directly adjacent to the spill area. The Department observed 4 roll-off dumpsters were located on site, all appear be sealed and lined. |
