2743974 | Primary Facility | 2018-06-18 | Routine/Complete Inspection | No Violations Noted | Gas well shown in picture 1 is operated by KPI oil and Gas. KPI purchased several wells (60 to 80) wells from XTO about two years ago. In this area, five wells were connected to a compressor station located 600 ft east of the wellhead. Former operator XTO ran a compressor connected five wells in this field. Each well meter located in compressor building along with gas driven compressor. When KPI took over site, the compressor was removed from site. On June 16, 2018 at 11:23 am, Steve Nowakowski, KPI received a call from landowner of a fire at former compressor station. Refer to photo 6. Landowner called 911 also. Fire department arrived at 11:53 am and spread around fire to prevent spreading of fire. At 12:30 pm, Steve arrived and to told fire department to spray water on fire to extinguish fire. Several water sprays were made to cool off plumbing so,Steve could turn off ball valve on main line to shut gas off to fire area. Refer to photos 2to 5.
